Route From Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is one of the best-known Croatian cities around the world and is located on a peninsula on Croatia's Adriatic coast. It has a population of about 43,000. Dubrovnik has a long and rich history dating back to the 6th century and at the beginning of its existence it was known as Ragusa in Latin. After the Croats arrived and settled in the city and its surroundings, the name was changed to its current name after an oak forest that grew near the city. Throughout its long history the city was ruled by a number of then powerful states.
